[21/04/2021, 16:19:04] David: Hello Wayward
[21/04/2021, 16:19:21] David: Thank you for this product id and description.
[21/04/2021, 16:19:27] Wayward de Leeuw: Good afternoon!
[21/04/2021, 16:19:45] David: I am sorry to hear about the high CPU usage with the USB32HD2. I can certainl look into this with you.
[21/04/2021, 16:20:05] David: Would it be alright if I ask a few questions about the USB32HD2 to be sure that I understand everything correctly?
[21/04/2021, 16:20:15] Wayward de Leeuw: I was wondering if there is a solution on this one
[21/04/2021, 16:20:20] Wayward de Leeuw: Yes, you may ask some questions
[21/04/2021, 16:22:06] David: I have seen this kind of thing before with the USB based video adapters. They certainly do use higher CPU resources but there are often some things that we can try.
May I ask how you found the high CPU usage? Were you experiencing any trouble?
[21/04/2021, 16:23:05] Wayward de Leeuw: I noticed it when i was playing World of Tanks (From the MS Store), a graphic game
[21/04/2021, 16:23:18] Wayward de Leeuw: This happens when i use the Startech USB Graphical card
[21/04/2021, 16:24:13] Wayward de Leeuw: When i move the window from the startech Graphicalk card to the docking station Graphical card, the cpu usage of: Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework Host Process drops from 20% cpu usage to 2% cpu usage.
[21/04/2021, 16:24:34] David: Ah yes. That is certainly understandable. The USB32HD2 is a good solution for use with desktop applications but it is not designed for use with applications that do a lot of 3D acceleration particularly gaming.
[21/04/2021, 16:24:37] Wayward de Leeuw: 2% is fully accaptable, 5% also
[21/04/2021, 16:25:00] Wayward de Leeuw: aha... Normal behavior for the startech
[21/04/2021, 16:25:41] David: Yes, I would expect that kind of performance with any USB based video solution that requires a driver.
[21/04/2021, 16:26:19] Wayward de Leeuw: ok, understandable, i did not know this... Then i will move the main monitor to the docking station and the rest to the less important monitors
[21/04/2021, 16:26:35] David: If you wish to run games on an external monitor I would recommend using a directly connected monitor if possible. Would you like me to check if we have a solution that could help with that?
[21/04/2021, 16:26:37] Wayward de Leeuw: i use 4 monitors, so i would expect some lag here and there
[21/04/2021, 16:27:01] Wayward de Leeuw: No, not hardwrae... If there is any softwrae solution for this, then i would like to try it
[21/04/2021, 16:29:25] David: Alright. For the best performance then I would recommend ensuring that both the USB32HD2 drivers and the onboard graphics drivers are up to date. This will give the best possible performance.
[21/04/2021, 16:29:44] David: When was the USB32HD2 purchased, and where was it purchased from?
[21/04/2021, 16:31:05] Wayward de Leeuw: i think 2 weeks ago, from megekko
[21/04/2021, 16:32:01] David: Do your monitors have other video ports available?
[21/04/2021, 16:32:35] David: I can check too, if you have the make and model of the monitors?
[21/04/2021, 16:34:09] David: Are you still available to continue?
[21/04/2021, 16:36:23] David: I have not had a reply from you for some time now. Please feel free to contact us at another time should you require further assistance. We thank you for contacting us today!
