3D Spotlight heeft een review klaarliggen van de Creative Labs SB Live! Platinum. Dit high-end soundkaartje wordt geleverd met de Live! Drive waar de I/O connectors zich bevinden. Hieronder de conclusie:
The Sound Blaster Live! Platinum is one hell of a soundcard. Thinking of it not only as a great soundcard but also as an outstanding package/product that could really be enjoyed by gamers and music enthusiasts, the marketing team of Creative has done it wonderfully this time. The price is a bit high, but considering all the things you get we can say it’s worth the money but still not everyone has got $170 for spending on a soundcard, in that case I would recommend you either the X-Gamer or MP3+, as I already said, the hardware is the same but most of the luxuries (the Live!Drive and just half of the bundle) are not included.
Other soundcards based on the Vortex 2 chip are still a good choice though, we should have a review of the Aureal SQ2500 ready for posting very soon. Aureal is also working of the SQ3500 Turbo that will support A3D 3.0 and geometry reverb, not to mention Diamond Multimedia that is preparing their new card for the Monster Sound series, however unlike past products that used chips from Aureal, this new card will be based on ESS Technology's Canyon 3D processor.
However the Live! Platinum is already widely available in the market and so far none of the competition’s upcoming products seem to be good enough for regretting have invested in the Live! Platinum, got the money? Go for it !
