AMD en 3DLabs hebben gisteren bekend gemaakt dat beide bedrijven zullen samenwerken bij de ontwikkeling van op Windows NT en Athlon processors gebaseerde graphics workstations (thanks VHware voor de tip):
3Dlabs Inc. and microchip maker Advanced Micro Devices Inc. on Monday said they agreed to work together on high-performance workstation graphics products using AMD's new Athlon processors and 3Dlabs' computer graphic accelerators on systems operating Microsoft Corp.'s (NasdaqNM:MSFT - news) Windows NT software.
Under the agreement, 3Dlabs will boost its support for the Athlon processor, including refining characteristics of AMD's 3DNow! instruction set.
AMD will continue to provide technical support and engineering resources to 3Dlabs to enhance these efforts.
``3Dlabs is focused on providing the best possible workstation graphics solutions, so it is of tremendous value to us to be able to work closely with AMD, whose Athlon processor will be at the heart of many new workstation platforms,'' said Neil Trevett, vice president of marketing at 3Dlabs.
3Dlabs is a leading supplier of hardware and software graphics accelerators for computer workstations and design professionals.
