The RS Shifter by default has 7 gears forward + one reverse (8 "slots") but you can reduce these to 6 gears forward + one reverse by simply sliding on a plastic template which prevents the shifter from using the 8th slot. The shifter comes with 2 different templates. One for "legacy mode" and one for 6 gears forward plus one reverse, but by the looks of things it shouldn't be impossible to make your own templates. In fact a lot of things on this shifter are customizable. Just take a small detail like the knob, if you are not happy with the one provided by ACT LABS you can simply replace it with one of your own choice. Just dial your local Momo dealer and order your own personal sporty gearknob!
