Mr. Sharky himself heeft een update gepost van de Sharky Extreme Weekly CPU Prices column. Naast een overzicht met (voor ons hollanders niet bijster interessante) prijzen heeft-ie ook wat info over de verwachte data waarop de PIII-800 en Athlon 800 beschikbaar zullen komen:
There's been no sign of the two Intel CPUs 'announced' last week (the Pentium III 750 and 800) and some sources have speculated that it won't be until mid-January of 2000 before OEM will begin selling them. In small quantities I might add. As for AMD's Athlon 800MHz, it's much the same story. AMD didn't actually do much more than "announce" it last week and we've speculated that units won't be available until the middle of January anyway. So if you're looking at buying an Athlon 750 today, just hang on a few weeks and the price will drop a significant amount (or of course you could opt for an 800 anyway).
Ook wel grappig is dat de Athlons volgens Sharky nu opeens een 'Good Overclocking potential' heeft. vorige week was dat nog 'unknown' (blijkbaar heeft die kritiek van AMD Zone geholpen
