As an AMD fan, and a stock holder, I spend a bit of time reading about the company. I have listed a few CONCERVATIVE predictions below of what I expect in the next two year for the company, and its products.I strongly expect (over 95%certain) AMD to produce:
2, 4, and 8 way multiprocessor chip set up to 1 MB of on die L2 cach throughout 2000 (which workes better than coppermines) increase to 3D Now! DDRAM 266MHz capable chipset during 2000 64bit K8 in 2001 K8 multi processing within month of K8 launch I am sure about AMDs ability to produce multi processor and 64 bit in time based on the allies AMD has. Compact is an excellent ally, and this alliance will continue since AMD supplies chipsets and LDT technology to DEC Alpha. DEC is hepling AMD produce a 64 bit processor, and motorolas agreement to share technology means that AMD may gain access to the design for the extremly fast cach in the G4s, the SIMD instructions in the Velocity engine, the software concept in Alti-Vec, and a way of producing 128 bit CPUs like the G4.
