Even though the day itself was a rather slow day for the rest of the high tech market, the three new contenders: NVIDIA, Allaire, and Covad, were able to post some pretty impressive gains. Although the graphics chip-set industry has seen some rough times recently, investors bought into Nvidia because 3-D graphics accelerators are becoming part of the standard PC set up, Menlow said.
