The Erazor X bundled with the 3D Revelator glasses is a decent offering, but what happens when the 3D Revelator promotion expires after 12/31/99? Even with the 3D Revelator glasses, $269 is asking a lot for a card that doesn't have any hardware features besides the standard VGA monitor output. The $289 ASUS AGP-V6600 Deluxe comes with video inputs, outputs, and a pair of 3D stereo glasses. The ELSA Erazor X is a pretty good card, but we feel that there are better GeForce deals out there. The software bundle isn't very impressive either. Yes, the SmartRefresh and SmartResolution options are nice, but c'mon, a CD sampler full of game demos? We'd rather have a full game or two. We do appreciate ELSA's ChipGuard technology. It'll make overclocking easier for the faint of heart.
If you're just looking for the cheapest GeForce card available, or a feature-rich GeForce card you'll have to look elsewhere. If you're looking for a no-frills GeForce card and a pair of 3D stereo glasses, this is the card for you.
