All the chips I have currently done have been the same, with regards to case, two of the four plastic case retaining pins easy to pop off, one quite tough and the other stubborn as a mule!!!!! arrgh!!!!!. The trick is to be not too gentle with the chip. I just stand it up on the bench with the edge connector pointing upwards, with plastic case away from me (metal plate towards me), insert a 3mm flat blade screwdriver between the metal plate and the plastic case on the right hand side and push straight down. Make sure you keep the screwdriver level with the right edge of the metal plate so as not to hit the PCB. Having pushed the screwdriver right throuch to the bench, two of the retaining clips should now have been released.
