Twee MSI 6167 reviews vandaag, de eerste van Hot Hardware:
This is the first review of a non-Intel platform we have done here at Hot Hardware. It was also the most challenging and enjoyable one. The folks at AMD have a real winner on their hands with the K7, there is no denying them of that. The MSI MS-6167 is a solid performer with good quality and stability. It should be noted that thoughout the entire battery of tests, we never experienced a lock up or application error. On the other hand, the MS-6167 is a little bland however, in terms of features, since it doesn't have any overclocking options or system monitoring functions. The AMD system platform is still young so it is understandable that the few designs out of the block are conserative. We hope to see MSI pack in additional bells and whistles in the next rev. of this board. [break] ...en eentje van Singapore Hardware Zone: [/break] The biggest letdown was the AGP performance. Somehow, the 3D Mark 99 tests revealed jerky graphics as it was running the Game 2 benchmark. There's nothing else I can blame except for the poor AGP implementation by the AMD chipset. Somehow, graphics were smoother on the BX motherboard. This also explains why the MS-6167 graphic performance was almost on par with the Intel Pentium III-500. Part of the reason is also due to the lack of Enhanced 3DNow! support in 3D Mark 99. Until I test another motherboard based on the AMD chipset, I cannot be certain if the 3D jerkiness was due to the chipset or motherboard. Still, I hope the next generation of chipset will be much more optimised, and would also include support for AGP 4x.
