GA-Source vroeg Abit of er er nog plannen zijn voor een AMD Athlon plank. Zoals te verwachten viel kreeg met een super lame antwoord:

Even though the capacities of the Athlon CPU are impressive, we need to consider also other factrs before we engage in the design of a new product. The current situation when looking at chipset and the entire situation indicates that the Athlon is at the moment more suitable for OEM products.We are therefore regularely reviewing the situation, and will release a retail product as soon as we can be sure that our product will be able to satisfy completely the demands of our endusers.
Tja, als er één moederplanken fabrikant is die per sé Intel te vriend moet houden, dan is het wel Abit (dual Celerons bordjes e.d. zijn toch geen ideeën waarmee je je populair maakt bij Intel)...
