Op SharkyExtreme vond ik dit bericht dat Hyundai nog binnenkort 166 Mhz DDR-SDRAM zal introduceren.
From a system bandwidth standpoint, a 128-bit I/O bus, which is main stream on today's add-on graphics cards, the graphics system designer will find a significant improvement by implementing the new 166MHz DDR parts. Systems today using graphics SDRAM provide bandwidths of only 2.7 to 3.2 gigabytes per second (GB/sec.). But with 166MHz DDR SDRAMs, the graphics system engineer can achieve a bandwidth of 5.3 GB/sec., in other words, double the bandwidth performance.``
Door de verdubbeling van de bandbreedte kan vooral op grafisch gebied een flinke prestatiewinst worden geboekt.
