(NYSE:AMD - news) Chairman Jerry Sanders said on Wednesday he was confident the company could make more than 1 million of its next-generation Athlon processors in the fourth quarter.He made the comments on a conference call with analysts and investors after AMD released its second-quarter results. Analysts have said the Athlon chip is AMD's last chance to compete effectively with its chief rival Intel Corp.
