Initial monthly product set at 100,000 units; output to be increased to one million units/month by the end of the year. Product to be used in PC servers, workstations and new PC Products.By initiating mass production before the competitors, Samsung will secure a strong market position and enjoy higher profitability than what can be received from 64MB SDRAM sales.
The value-added 128M SDRAM takes the design and process technologies for the 64M a step further. The physical size of the two chips is the same, but the 129M requires a design rule of 0.23 micron. The Data processing speed of this next-generation device is 133MHz ,making it well suited for next-generation, high-performance computers such as the PC-100.
At the same time, the 128M SDRAM version consumes no more power than the 64M SDRAM chip.
