Eerder werd al bekend dat 3dfx een aantal taiwanese fabrikanten, waaronder Asus, de toestemming had gegeven om V3 kaarten te produceren. Bij iXBT kwam ik deze info tegen over de V3 kaarten van Asus:
ot so long ago we mentioned that some Taiwanese manufacturers, such as ASUS for instance, were allegedly going to produce their own graphics cards based on Voodoo3. Our prediction came true, and ASUS Voodoo3 3000 appeared in the retail. We couldn't keep aloof from this event and got one of these cards. In general, we can say that STB has retained its exclusive rights on Voodoo3 manufacturing. ASUS Voodoo3 3000 turned out an ordinary STB Voodoo3 3000 with an ASUS sticker on it. ASUS was even too lazy to make new card drivers. The only thing it did was a new line included into the BIOS. So, if one day you see some other graphics cards based on Voodoo3, don't be very enthusiastic about it: they will undoubtedly turn out from STB as well.
