FPS3D heeft een artikel in elkaar geflanst over de "Future of PC Audio". Ze kijken naar de meest ideale bus (ISA, PCI, USB) en sound standards (EAX, A3D, Dolby Digital) en komen dan tot de conclusie dat dit de ultieme configuratie is:
Bus - 400Mbps Firewire (IEEE 1394) with an analog sideband for analog CD Audio support. Sound Processor - Should exist inside the speakers and outside of the case. Should be A3D/EAX compliant. Channels - 6 discreet channels, including a sub on it's own and seperate rear speakers. Control - Software or Manual control available.
