Alweer een review van Extreme Hardware, dit keer met een Thrustmaster Rage3D gamepad als onderwerp:
The Thrustmaster Rage3D touts its unique feature of having both 2D and 3D modes that can be switched between at will. The 2D mode is just like a basic digital gamepead, with movements on the controller being mapped in 8 directions at the exact same speed. This is useful in arcade games like Mortal Kombat 3 or one of the various side-scrollers we know and loathe. Switching to the 3D mode gives you some of the latitude of movement found in analog joysticks or proportional D-Pads. The easiest way to explain it would be to say that the Rage3D has combined the digital and proportional D-Pads on the Gravis Xterminator into one D-Pad using a switch to change between modes.
