Dell introduceert nieuwe Latitude en Inspiron laptops

Dell heeft een stapeltje nieuwe Intel notebooks de markt opgezet onder de naam Inspiron 4000 en Latitude C600 & C800. De Inspiron 4000 kan maximaal uitgerust worden met Intel Pentium III 850, 512MB SDRAM, een ATi Rage Mobility 128 videokaart en de gebruikelijke zooi aan connectoren en drives. De goedkoopste Inspiron 4000 kan al meegenomen worden voor 1700 dollar, maar dan ben je niet in het bezit van alle bovenstaande lekkernijen:

8X/4X/24X CDRW drive

Als je zulke specs ziet vraag je je af waarom ze er niet meteen even een DVD combo drive van gemaakt hebben.

Een 8 MB videokaartje valt wel wat tegen in vergelijking met de rest.

In afwachting van de geforce 2 MX chipset in pc- schootcomputers (dus geen apple) is imho die ati rage mobility met 8mb met hoogst haalbare.

Vind het alleen zo schraal staan ivm de rest. Heel die laptops zijn beter dan mijn PC, behalve de videokaart (ik heb Voodoo 2)

Dan is de videokaart in de laptops ook beter (lees : sneller) dan wat jij hebt, want de Rage Mobility staat voor 220 Mtexels, waar jouw VooDoo 2 voor 180 Mtexels staat...

nee serieus, ik wacht toch liever tot er maar bekend is van crusoë laptops voor dat ik een keuze ga maken tussen een intel of een ander ;-)
