One of the kinda' cool things about this device is the little teal button I mentioned earlier. It's like the shutter button on a camera. Why is that a good thing you ask? Well, the only other way to actually snap a picture using a video camera in "live" is by clicking a box in the application. I suppose if you are just sitting at your workstation messing around with pre-recorded material, that's fine. However, should you decide to move the camera and try to take a shot of something, it could get a bit awkward, real quick, with out the "little teal button". Point the camera, push the teal button, picture taken!
[...] If you happen to be one of the many who have both an older analog video camera, and you lack a video card that supports an analog video input, this little device can be made to go a long way for little $$$. Looked at for what it is—an inexpensive video capture device—it serves quite well in that function; if you accept its inherent limitations. Needless to say, if you want to have a mini digital studio in your home, go buy a DV-Camcorder and a firewire card...oh yeah, remember to bring lots o' cash too, 'cause those are not gonna' be cheap.
