Cole3D heeft een verhaal geschreven over hoe je je poeter kast kan voorzien van een raampie en neon licht. Alleen geschikt voor de ervaren doe-het-zelvers :
There are several posts around Ars Technica and Hard|OCP about people putting plexiglass windows onto side of their cases, so I decided to try my hand at a window. Neon lighting interested me, because I knew about how cool PCBs looked under black light, so I wanted to show off the innards of my machine with black lights.
I purchased my Lexan sheet from Home Depot where I decided on a 24" x 28" sheet, so I’d have plenty of room for error, in case I messed up.
I was struggling to find a place to look for 12 volt DC neon lighting and then it dawned on me that automotive accessories usually run off 12-volt power, and I’ve seen neon lighting on and under cars, so I went to Pep Boys and found black neon lights in 10" lengths.
When performing a case modification, remember to plan carefully, because once that Dremel bit hits the metal, the result is permanent. Buying spare sides for pre-assembled cases is difficult, and I’ve received blank stares when asking about buying another case side.
