Reliability is definitely what you want when burning a CD at 8x speed. Also keep in mind that as you increase the write speed of the CD-R drive you must pay closer attention to the brand and type of media that you use. Look for discs that are certified to work in 8x drives. Plextor recommends Mitsui, TDK, and Taiyo Yuden.
