Pioneer has brought an interesting innovation over to their DVD-ROM that until now I have only seen in car CD players. In order to load the disk into the drive, you just slide the disk into the front and the player grabs the disk and loads it. This bypasses the need for any tray or caddy, the most common loading method for CD-ROMs and DVD-ROMs until now. Another benefit of using this type of loading is it is easier on the disk’s wear and tear, because there is no tray for the disk to scrape against while spinning.
