Upgrade Center heeft een review gepost van de Gigabyte GA-5AX socket7 moederplank met ALi Alladdin 5 chipset. Het ding heeft een hele zooi busspeed settings (met naast de gebruikelijke snelheden extra busspeeds van 105 tot 140Mhz in stappen van 5!).
Een zwaar probleem met de huidige socket7 planken is de AGP compatibiliteit, maar die lijkt bij dit moederbord wel ok te zijn:
I ran the board with two separate AGP video cards to see if there would be any problem. The first video card was the brand new Giga-byte GA-630. This is a great Voodoo Banshee based AGP board with 16MB of fast SGRAM and a nice little cooling fan on the Banshee chip. It installed smoothly with my AMD K6-2 400MHz processor and ran glitch free. 3DMark ran consistently around 1880. The second video card I tried was the STB Velocity 4400. This board installed nicely without any problems and ran flawlessly during my testing. Of course I downloaded and deployed all the latest AGP drivers and other Windows98 tweaks to bring all my components up to the most recent versions.
