Software-update: Guest PC 1.0.1

Lismore Software Systems is druk bezig met de ontwikkeling van Guest PC voor het MacOS X-platform. Dit programma geeft je de mogelijkheid om een virtuele x86-machine op te starten binnen MacOS X. De software is succesvol getest met DOS en Windows 3.1 tot en met Windows XP als virtueel besturingssysteem. Versie 1.0.1 is sinds kort beschikbaar met het volgende changelog:

Bug Fixes:

• "Can't created configuration file" error if FileVault enabled
• "Not enough free disk space" error if Mac has the multiple partitions
• Hangs while accessing the internet or a network
• 10MB transfer size limit via network
• DHCP addressing with AirPort
• IP address conflict between Mac and Guest OS
• A:\INSTADD.EXE file not found in Windows 2000/XP installation
• Incorrect chars in the username in Setup Assistant window
• Inability to select .DMG CD images
• Fedore Core 3 crash

Enhancements:

• Support for .toast and .cdr CD images
• Support for .floppyimages floppy images
• Support for NextStep and OpenStep CD images

Volgens de site kost Guest PC $69.99. Op zich is dat een voorwaarde natuurlijk, maar die past niet in het rijtje GNU/BSD thuis imho.

Toch wel, programma's onder de GPL kunnen even goed betalend zijn. Bij de aankoop krijg je dan de volledige(!) broncode erbij onder de GPL-licentie.

Maar in dit geval is het dus wel degelijk commerciele software, voor zover ik kan zien.
