Hermanvh liet ons weten dat hij op het forum van The firmware page een nieuwe aangepaste firmware heeft geplaatst voor de NEC ND-1300A dvd-brander. Deze versie, die gebaseerd is op de originele 1.0 B/C-versie van NEC heeft ondersteuning voor bitsetting en heeft verder een hoop media-hacks en versnellingen aan boord. Zo kunnen alle ondersteunde 2.4x-speed DVD+R-schijfjes op 4x-speed gebrand worden. Herrie liet verder weten dat deze firmware nog niet geschikt is voor de NEC ND-1000A of ND-1100A.
