In het forum van Miranda IM is enkele dagen geleden versie de eerste Release Candidate vrijgegeven van versie 0.4. Miranda is een open source Instant Messageing-programma en kan standaard verbinding maken met de netwerken van AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, en IRC. Meer netwerken en functionaliteit kan worden toegevoegd door middel van plugins. Het gebruik van deze versie, die als zip-bestand of als installer kan worden gedownload, is alleen bedoeld voor gevorderde gebruikers die mee willen helpen met het testen ervan. Ook word aangeraden de huidige plugins eerst te deinstalleren. Het changelog van deze release laat de volgende veranderingen zien:
