Software-update: Mp3tag 3.36

Florian Heidenreich heeft versie 3.36 van Mp3tag uitgebracht. Met dit programma kunnen de metatags van de gangbaarste muziekformaten worden aangepast. Ondersteuning is aanwezig voor ID3v1, ID3v2.3, ID3v2.4, iTunes MP4, WMA, Vorbis Comments en APE-tags. Verder kunnen de bestandsnamen aan de hand van die tags worden aangepast en kunnen playlists worden gegenereerd. De releasenotes voor deze uitgave zien er als volgt uit:

Improvements to Tag Sources

I've improved the performance of executing Tag Sources, especially those with many conditional expressions. I've also moved querying and execution to be performed in the background, so that the user interface is no longer blocked by long-running queries. In the process, I've changed a lot of code, ancient code even, and I'm happy with the result.

I've also added a button to preview the full cover in the Tag Sources query results dialog (if provided by the Tag Source), which gives a nice way of checking the artwork directly from the results list.

Custom Field Values Independent of Tag Panel Fields

The problem with Custom Field Values so far was that they were tied to Tag Panel fields. That is, if you removed the field, the custom values were gone too. Recent versions also made those values available in other places, e.g., when editing fields in place in the File List or via Extended Tags. I've now consolidated the management into a new configuration page at Options → Field Values.

Export to Multiple Output Files

Similar to the Playlist Generator, it's now possible to export to multiple output files by grouping input files according to a user-defined format string. This way, each group is exported separately. It's one of the features that was repeatedly asked for and it took some time for me to come up with a good solution, especially one that doesn't add even more commands to the export templating language.

Bugfixes and Internal Changes

As always, this new version includes bug fixes and many other improvements. For example, I finally found an issue that produced a crash when writing tags to malformed or truncated FLAC files. If you're curious, the changelog has the complete list.

Met het risico ondankbaar te klinken want Florian geeft zijn werk hier gratis weg, maar dit zou als docker container zo handig zijn voor de collectie op de NAS.

Voor een Docker image zou je als basis een Windows image moeten hebben. Dat is niet onmogelijk, maar het wordt er wel wat 'zwaar' van.

Helaas is er geen Linux versie. Dat zou het containerizen makkelijker maken. En dan zou ik het weer kunnen gebruiken. Misschien eens met Wine proberen...

Ah, nog steeds mijn/dé mp3tagger. Heeft me in het verleden nogal eens geholpen bij bulk-taggen door handige scripting mogelijkheden.

Heeft iemand een idee hoe deze zich verhoudt tot musicbrainz Picard? Ik zit net mijn hele collectie hier doorheen te halen (wat prima werkt, maar ik word nogal gethrottled heb ik het idee... Wat logisch is hoor daar niet van)
