Software-update: Microsoft Office 2004 Service Pack 1

Microsoft Heeft het eerste service pack uitgebracht voor Office 2004 voor de Mac. De volledige naam is Service Pack 1 (11.1.0) en deze kan als MacBinary- of BinHex-bestand worden opgehaald. De volledige release notes zijn op deze pagina na te lezen, maar dit zijn in het kort de veranderingen die in dit service pack zijn doorgevoerd:

Improvements for Word 2004 for Mac

• AutoRecover functions correctly when FileVault is enabled
• Security is improved when you open a document that has macros
• Text changes to the font selected on the Font menu
• German proofing tools are correctly detected
• Text selection is improved

Improvements for PowerPoint 2004 for Mac

• Performance is improved when you play movies in a slide show
• Compatibility with fonts is improved
• Dragging objects on a slide works correctly when the ruler is turned on
• Security is improved when you open a document that has macros

Improvements for Excel 2004 for Mac

• Security is improved when you open a document that has macros

Improvements for Entourage 2004 for Mac

• Entourage icon remains stationary when a connection error occurs
• Sent messages display Sent status in the Microsoft Outlook Info Bar
• Connection to the Internet by using an internal modem is improved
• SMTP using SSL connections is improved
• Pictures from iPhoto can be attached to an e-mail message
• Microsoft User Data folder is accessible from network volume
• Keyboard shortcuts in Adobe CS products are available when Entourage is open
• Entourage can connect to Domino IMAP servers
• SSL support for Exchange delegate access is improved
• Connecting to a POP account is improved

Office 2004 draait NIET onder Mac OS 9 of Classic, zoals jullie als OS neerzetten, maar alleen onder OS X 10.2.8 en hoger...!

is er eigenlijk al een Office 2004 voor windows, nee toch (heb nu Office 2003...)

Microsoft geeft verschillende namen aan hun office-pakketten voor bv. Windows & Mac.

Laatste release windows: Office 2003
terwijl de laatste release Mac: Office 2004 is.

De volgende Office voor Windows zal dan wel 2005 zijn... of ze zijn heel erg laat (wat ze nooit doen, meestal zelfs een half jaar van te voren)

en ik kom er achter dat voor Office X (de voorganger van 2004) ook een update is verschenen... zie www.microsoft.com/mac site.

En voor Office 2001 voor OS9 is er ook een update, MS is scheutig vandaag (9.0.5 om precies te zijn, een security update)
