Software-update: Sandboxie Plus 5.69.7 / 1.14.7

Sandboxie is een programma waarmee het mogelijk is om Windows-programma's in een afgeschermde omgeving te draaien. Op die manier zijn wijzigingen die door de programma's of webbrowsers worden aangebracht, eenvoudig ongedaan te maken en is er bovendien geen risico dat belangrijke onderdelen van het besturingssysteem worden aangetast. Sandboxie kan worden gebruikt op Windows 7 of hoger en is verkrijgbaar in een classic- en een plus-uitvoering. Op deze pagina is te vinden welke extra's de plus-versie biedt. Naast de gratis versie zijn enkele functies alleen beschikbaar voor mensen die het project financieel steunen. De changelog sinds versie 5.69.5 / 1.14.5 kan hieronder worden gevonden.

Geinig, ik wist niet dat Sandboxie aan 'Data Obfuscation' deed. Wel een slim idee om eventuele valse software verkeerde data te voeren, maar ik denk dat er wel meer is waar je in een systeem 'fingerprinting' kunt toepassen.

Well het concept van sandboxie is leuk maar het is niet bepaald water dicht.

On startup van een exe, bevriest die die gelijk, laad die zijn eigen dll in, en overschrijft allerlei function calls die een process doet, zodat in theorie een programma dit niet meer kan.

Maar een applicatie kan in zijn eigen geheugen redelijk normaal schrijven. Als je lees rechten hebt op files, kun je relatief gemakkelijk je eigen executable lezen, achterhalen wat de oorspronkelijke bytes waren op de plekken die ze overschrijven. Het is vast iets moeilijker dan dit, maar serieus vertrouw sandboxie niet zomaar
