Software-update: Intel Processor Frequency ID Utility 7.1

Intel heeft een nieuwe versie uitgebracht van haar Processor Frequency ID Utility. Dit programma geeft uitgebreide informatie over de processor van systemen die zijn uitgerust met een kloppend hart van Intel. Versie 7.1 voegt naast ondersteuning voor Extended Memory 64 Technology (EM64T) ook herkenning van diverse nieuwe modellen processoren toe:

Changes from version 7.0 to 7.1:

• The Intel Processor Frequency ID Utility v7.1 adds support for Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (Intel EM64T).
  Intel EM64T requires a computer system with a processor, chipset, BIOS, OS, device drivers and applications enabled for Intel EM64T. The processor will not operate (including 32-bit operation) without an Intel EM64T-enabled BIOS. Performance will vary depending on your hardware and software configurations. Intel EM64T-enabled OS, BIOS, device drivers and applications may not be available. Check with your vendor for more information.
• The Intel Processor Frequency ID Utility v7.1 also adds support for the latest Intel Xeon, Intel Pentium 4, Intel Pentium M, and Intel Celeron processors. [break]

Beetje onzinnig om nu pas een update uit te brengen. CPU-Z of WCPUID hadden allang support voor zulke cpu's. En zijn bovendien een stuk 'lichter'.
