Canon heeft een nieuwe firmware uitgegeven voor de PowerShot A70. Hierin wordt slechts één verbetering gemeld waarmee PictBridge op de camera wordt ondersteund. Het changelog ziet er als volgt uit:
The firmware update will make your camera PictBridge* compliant if it is not already compliant.
* PictBridge is a new industry standard for direct printing that allows you to print images without using a computer by directly connecting digital cameras and digital camcorders to a printer, regardless of the devices' brand and model.[break]Om het bestand te kunnen downloaden heb je het serienummer, welke vermeld staat op de onderkant van je camera, nodig.

alle settings zijn nu wel weg, taal weer op Engels, e.d.
