Het compacte programma WinLIRC is geschreven voor het versturen en ontvangen van standaard infrarood-signalen. Hierdoor kan je zo goed als elke afstandsbediening met infrarood gebruiken om jouw computer aan te sturen. Daarnaast kan je ook signalen uitzenden waardoor je de stereo of de televisie kan bedienen.
De naam is afkomstig van Linux Infrared Remote Control die als basis dient voor dit Windows-programma. Versie 0.6.5 is onlangs uitgebracht en heeft het volgende changelog meegekregen:
