Leica heeft voor zijn S Typ 007-middenformaatcamera's versie 5.0.0.0 van de firmware uitgebracht. Deze camera's hebben een Leica-Pro-formaat cmos-beeldsensor met 37,5 megapixels aan boord en kunnen van verwisselbare Leica-S-lenzen worden voorzien.
