NetCaptor is de grondlegger van het gebruik van tabbladen in plaats van nieuwe vensters in browsers. Het gebruik van zulke tabbladen voorkomt dat je taakbalk vol komt te staan met verschillende vensters en daarnaast kan het een aangename beleving zijn voor de gebruker. NetCaptor vereist wel een installatie van Internet Explorer op het systeem omdat er een aantal standaard componenten worden gebruikt. Versie 7.2.2 is sinds kort beschikbaar en heeft het volgende changelog meegekregen:

TRANSLATION CHANGES
- Double-erase bug affecting some WYSIWYG editors like the one used in VBulletin 3.
- Default browser associations are now reset automatically at end of trial period without uninstalling NetCaptor.
- NetCaptor will now shutdown correctly when Windows is shutting down and option to confirm application closing is true.
- Close/Close All buttons not visible at startup when NC not maxed
- Infrequent icon error message when loading tools menu first time
- Fixed problem where ALT + LEFT or RIGHT (causing forward or back navigation) could allow an onclose popup to show in IE as NetCaptor confused the ALT with an ALT + SHIFT + CLICK.
- Phantom tab bug when SHIFT+clicking javascript links.
