Software-update: Opera 7.11 RC

Op de FTP-site van Opera staat Opera 7.11 klaar om gedownload te worden. Let er wel op dat dit nog steeds een release candidate is, een aantal dagen geleden stond er eveneens een 7.11 vermeld op de FTP-site echter hier bleken nog een aantal bugs in te zitten die volgens het forum nu zijn opgelost. Het wachten is echter op de officiële aankondiging van Opera zelf.

Apart, ik zie in de changelog niks staan over verbeteringen in de rendering-engine. Ik zou zelf zeggen dat dat toch wel een belangerijk onderdeel is van een browser (en in het geval van Opera 7, een onderdeel waar nog veel ruimte voor verbetering is).

Hij heeft nog steeds problemen met GoT. Daar zie je van veel berichten het laatste stuk/de sig niet . Als je op "quote" klikt en dan terug gaat dan wordt het wel goed getoond.

dat vond ik nog niet zo heel erg, vooral die crashes daar word ik nu toch wel helemaal gek van

hopelijk verminderd dat nu een beetje, het geheugengebruik is opzich niet zo'n groot probleem.

Je kunt ook gewoon out- en dan in-zoomen. (ctrl+scrollwiel). Dan zie je ze ook goed, en gaat een stuk makkelijker

Sedert zaterdagmorgen ligt de win 2880 final versie klaar. Op het eerste zicht vree snel - minder spontane crashes dan in de 7.10 doch veel mem-use (meer dan in prefs).
Er is ook een nieuwe Linux versie - Opera 7.11 b2, 05.09.2003 verkrijgbaar op ftp://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/linux/711/beta2/

Belangrijkste updates van de winversie zijn o.a. :
- Wand button works again
- Empty mail trash fixed
- Voice-related menu items removed in this release
- Load image on right-click menu didn't work
- One fix in the mailer for a bug you guys didn't find
- Spam detection fixed
- When closing Opera it warns for transfers going on

Toch gek dat je op de ftp helemaal niet kan zien of het om een RC gaat of om een final. De naam doet nu vermoeden dat het de final is.
