US Robotics heeft voor haar 22 Mbps wireless AP een nieuwe firmware uitgebracht die het mogelijk maakt om de snelheid op te schroeven naar 54 Mbps, welke door de U.S. Robotics 54 Mbps XLerator Technology wordt ondersteund. De volgende release notes zijn aanwezig:

Exclusive U.S. Robotics 54 Mbps XLerator Technology offers performance and data throughput rates comparable to 54 Mbps wireless standard products but with the unsurpassed security features, reliability, and value of our very own line of 22 Mbps wireless networking products.
These performance enhancements are possible through software upgrades available for free, compliments of U.S. Robotics, in our ongoing effort to provide you with the best possible online and networking experience.
