Software-update: PGP 8.0.2

Op de internet pagina van PGP vinden we het nieuws dat onlangs versie 8.0.2 beschikbaar is gesteld. PGP Freeware is de gratis te gebruiken variant voor non-commercieel thuis gebruik. PGP zorgt voor een veilige codering van je gegevens door middel van het gebruik van 'public' en 'private' sleutels. De volgende release notes zijn aanwezig:

PGP 8.0.2 is a free update to all current licensed users of PGP 8.0, and offers the following new features in addition to improvements of existing capabilities:

Both platforms:

• Schemas for PGP Admin policy distribution via Microsoft Active Directory are now included in PGP Enterprise.
• OpenPGP security improvements

Windows:

• PGP Disk now includes support for 256-bit keylength AES encryption
• The Lotus Notes plugin now supports Lotus Notes R6 in addition to all previous versions of Lotus Notes back through 4.5
• The ICQ plugin now supports versions 99b through 2003a of ICQ
• Support for additional smartcards and biometric devices

Mac OS X:

• PGP Enterprise 8.0.2 for Mac OS X introduces PGP Admin for Mac OS X
