Amarok is een populaire mediaspeler voor Linux. Sinds versie 2.0 is er een hoop aan deze speler veranderd en niet iedereen is daar even blij mee. Er is dan ook nog steeds een grote userbase voor versie 1.4. Een groep ontwikkelaars is van deze versie uitgegaan en heeft een nieuwe mediaspeler ontwikkeld met de naam Clementine. Clementine wordt niet alleen voor Linux ontwikkeld, maar ook voor Windows en OS X. De speler kenmerkt zich door zijn gebruiksgemak, snelheid en vele mogelijkheden. Kort geleden is versie 1.1 van Clementine uitgekomen en deze wordt met het volgende changelog geleverd:
