Software-update: Adobe Photoshop CS6 13.0.1

Adobe heeft de eerste update voor Creative Suite 6, oftwel versie 13.0, uitgebracht. Creative Suite, dat verkrijgbaar is in de smaken Design Standard, Design & Web Premium, Production Premium, Master Collection en Creative Cloud, bestaat uit verschillende onderdelen, waaronder Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects en Illustrator. In Adobe Photoshop CS6 zijn onder andere de content aware fill- en crop-tool verbeterd, levert de Mercury Graphics-engine belangrijke prestatieverbeteringen en is er een nieuwe blur-gallery. Een uitgebreid overzicht van de belangrijkste nieuwe en verbeterde mogelijkheden in CS6 is op deze pagina te vinden. Deze update, die beschikbaar is voor Windows en Mac OS X, brengt diverse verbeteringen met betrekking tot beveiliging en prestaties, en verhelpt natuurlijk ook de nodige problemen.

For convenience and reliability, we highly recommend that you apply this update directly from within Photoshop. To do so, choose Help > Updates in Photoshop CS6 and apply all of the updates listed under Adobe Photoshop CS6 in the Adobe Application Manager.

The Adobe Photoshop 13.0.1 update includes many critical fixes improving security, stability and performance while also addressing a number of high priority bugs with 3D, Crop, Type, Painting, Paths, and Shapes.

Here are some specific fixes for the following bugs:

3D: Reflection does not render when ray Traced
3D: Ray Trace does not stop rendering
3D: OpenGL widget stops working in Full Screen Windows
Paths and Shapes: No way to select a Shape layer without path getting activated
Paths and Shapes: Shapes do not constrain properly with non-square pixels
Paths and Shapes: Unable to type on paths or shape layer
Paths and Shapes: Vector Layers Copy/Paste attributes not actionable
Paths and Shapes: No vector preview when transforming shape layers.
Windows task bar location & image window problem

Dat is ook wel een beetje de schuld van de "beroerde" manier waarop Apple retina heeft ingevoerd. Ik bedoel, na nooit ppi behoorlijk te hebben ondersteund en dus geen enkele applicatie het eigenlijk 'out-of-the-box' ondersteund, zoals dat redelijk geschreven Windows applicaties dat wel doen, verdubbeld Apple de ppi. Nu moet ieder bedrijf hals over kop alle graphics opnieuw gaan maken. Early adopters hebben gewoon pech ... zoals ze eigenlijk altijd hebben, en eigenlijk ook hadden kunnen verwachten.
