Alwil Software is bezig met de ontwikkeling van een nieuwe build van Avast Antivirus 7.0 en heeft daarvan nu een bètarelease uitgebracht. Het programma is beschikbaar in de gratis Avast Free Antivirus- en de betaalde Avast Pro Antivirus-uitvoeringen. Daarnaast is er Avast Internet Security, met onder andere een firewall en spambestrijding als extra's. In deze update zijn verschillende problemen verholpen, waaronder zwarte schermen, het niet meer werken van het toetsenbord, het willekeurig overschakelen naar de savezone en problemen met de Outlook-plug-in. Het volledige changelog ziet er als volgt uit:

(2) We have still problems with unregistering old plugin on some configurations. If it's possible, please unregister old one (e.g. through aswClear.exe) and then install avast! plugin again. We will fix this issue for next beta refresh. Sorry for that.
