Alwil Software is bezig met de ontwikkeling van een nieuwe build van Avast Antivirus 7.0 en heeft daarvan nu een bètarelease uitgebracht. Het programma is beschikbaar in de gratis Avast Free Antivirus- en de betaalde Avast Pro Antivirus-uitvoeringen. Daarnaast is er Avast Internet Security, met onder andere een firewall en spambestrijding als extra's. In deze opvolger zijn onder andere verbeteringen aangebracht in de autosandbox-module, de Remote Assistance en SafeZone. Verder is WebRep, dat de reputatie van een website aangeeft, nu ook beschikbaar voor Opera en is de ondersteuning voor Windows 8 verder verbeterd. Het volledige changelog ziet er als volgt uit:
