Versie 1.6.2 van Songbird voor Android is uitgekomen. Deze opensourcemuziekspeler is gebaseerd op Gecko en wordt voornamelijk voor Windows en Mac OS X ontwikkeld. Tegenwoordig is hij dus ook voor Android beschikbaar en enkele dagen geleden is versie 1.6.2 uitgekomen. Songbird wordt ontwikkeld door Poti, een afkorting voor 'Pioneers of the Inevitable'. Deze groep omvat onder andere ontwikkelaars die betrokken waren bij Winamp en Yahoo Music Engine. Versie 1.6.2 wordt met de volgende releasenotes geleverd:

We’ve made some big improvements to the new Discover features in the app. The friends list and following list are now much faster, and you can also see expanded artist images on the newly added artist pages. We’re making lots of great changes to this part of the app, so be sure to keep updating.
