De Participatory Culture Foundation heeft de final release van versie 5.0 van Miro uitgebracht. Miro is een opensource crossplatform- en high-definition-mediastreamer, -downloader, -player en -podcast-client. Het programma bevat standaard een beperkt aantal kanalen, maar die zijn eenvoudig met eigen bronnen uit te breiden. Nieuw in versie 5.0 is onder andere de mogelijkheid om automatisch de juiste informatie en album art op te halen voor muziek en de communicatie en synchronisatie met mobiele mediaspelers gaat een stuk sneller. Verder kan er muziek van eMusic worden aangeschaft en kunnen video's van Vimeo nu in hd-kwaliteit worden opgehaald. De complete release notes voor versie 5.0 zijn hieronder te vinden.
