Software-update: jv16 PowerTools 1.1.0.145 beta

4AMD stelde ons op de hoogte van de nieuwste versie van de inmiddels welbekende jv16 PowerTools. Inmiddels zijn we bij nummer 1.1.0.145 van deze software-serie aangekomen. Deze versie is nog in beta-status. Op de site staan de volgende veranderingen aangegeven:

This version contains a lot of bug fixes and small improvements, such as:
-RegTool recognizes more entries that might not be safe to remove.
-Fixed the update button in the Internet update feature to check the file version correctly.
-Improved File tool's ability to handle errors and it shouldn't now freeze so easily.
-Removed the LAN chat feature. I might include it again to future versions.
-Improved the integrated search feature. One enter and it does the normal search, double click the enter and it automatically selects the found items.
-The temp file finder in file tool will now find only files which are not used in the last three days.
-Since you can't move between components in all windows with the tab key (because tab is used for the auto complete) you can now do the same trick with ALT + arrow button.[break]Deze nieuwe beta is hier direct te downloaden. Hmm, tja, ik vind die tweak en clean proggies altijd leuk en probeer veel uit, maar dit (en het proggie zelf ook) komt toch niet helemaal betrouwbaar over, zie oa zijn eigen changelogs (van eerdere versies), ook de frequentie qua nieuwe updates, kun je beeter nog ff wachten tot er een stabielere en veiligere versie uitkomt.

Deze changes zien er wat hoopvoller uit, maar ik wacht nog ff.

Oh nee hoor deze gast weet geloof ik echt wel waar die mee bezig is, heb nog nooit problemen met betas gehad van em.

Is er al iets bekend omtrend de stable release van deze hemelse tool? De laatste tijd gaat het nogal snel met het uitbrengen van beta versies waar dan meestal ook weer erg irritante fouten in zitten. Dat active X en COM scanner mag je ook al versies lang niet gebruiken.

find duplicate files mist de optie om op meerdere partities te zoeken.
Maar 't is ook voor het eerst dat ik dit progsel probeer.

jv16 PowerTools 1.1.0.146 beta released. Don't use the ActiveX / COM scanner yet.

What's new:
-Fixed one big security hole which allowed any local user to gain all possible user rights.
-Fixed a huge bug in the file encrypter. If you tried to decrypt many files at the same time the program would only decrypt the first file and then corrupt all the other encrypted files.
-Added support for dragging and dropping files also to the main window.
-Fixed a bug that sometimes terminated the program.
-Added support for the RegEdit. You can now view some registry entries from the registry tool with right click > Open in RegEdit. This feature only works on some versions of windows, let me know if it doesn't work on your computer.
-Improved the more info tool's "Show entries" feature.
-Huge improvements, optimizations and bug fixes in the network features.

Ik ken het proggie al vrij lang en het is zeer betrouwbaar. Juori kan best beetje programmeren..
Hij heeft nog meer leuke dingen gemaakt. Check www.jv16.org maar eens

Pakkasherra 2.0
Pakkasherra (Finnish, means something really cool). You can create dynamic content to your web site with this small app. Every dynamic thing in my page is created with this tool. E.g. The WinAmp monitor, automatic update of the file sizes and versions. This app simply sends the information to your FTP server from which you can include to your html documents with SSI.
DivX Autorun 1.3
You can create autoplay menus for cd-roms for movie files. Supports MicroDVD player. This is a rather simple program but it supports quite advanced GUI customizations. Everything is skinnable.
Brutality 1.5
A brute force tool for windows. Supports also wordlists. Note: Don't try to extract this to the same dir where the package itself is. The resume brute force attack doesn't work very well but itŽs better than nothing.
The Devil Test 1.0
Test if your or somebody else's name corresponds to 666, the number of the beast. This program uses many algorithms so it can detect more 666s than other programs. But don't take this program too seriously, OK?
CPU Load 1.5
Shows CPU usage in a non relative way.
VideoBench '99 1.0
Test the speed of your (2D) videocard. This was my first big program, and a rather good one too. Too bad it doesn't work under NT/Win2000.
The Riddler 1.0
This program asks you questions you can define. A good tool for preparing to exams. I just made this because someone asked me to.
