Alwil Software brengt binnenkort een nieuwe versie van zijn antivirusprogramma Avast uit en deze kan nu al als bèta worden getest. Avast is beschikbaar in de gratis Free Antivirus-uitvoering en de betaalde Pro Antivirus. Daarnaast is er Avast Internet Security, met onder andere een firewall en spambestrijding als extra's. In de nieuwe release zien we geen grote veranderingen terug, maar voornamelijk kleine verbeteringen en enkele bugfixes.

- Firewall: improved compatibility with uTorrent

- Introduced new CreditAlert feature (US customers only)

- Improvements in the silent installer
- Improvements in the sandbox module
- Added Thai and Serbian language packs
