Er is een nieuwe ontwikkelversie van versie 3.00 van de mediaspeler AIMP uitgebracht. Het buildnummer is inmiddels bij 861 aanbeland, maar de software wordt nog steeds als bèta 1 aangeboden. AIMP is een gratis lichtgewichtmediaspeler van Russische makelij, met ondersteuning voor de meest gebruikte muziekformaten. Het uiterlijk heeft wat weg van Winamp en is door middel van skins aan te passen. AIMP heeft een 18-kanaalsequalizer aan boord en ondersteunt plug-ins. Verder kan het programma cd's rippen, muziekbestanden converteren en tags editten.
Versie 3.0 bevat naast een nieuw uiterlijk onder andere een nieuwe sound engine, een compleet vernieuwde muziekbibliotheek en ondersteuning voor ReplayGain. In deze update zijn verder de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen doorgevoerd:

- Titles for the some tracks are displayed truncated when listening internet-radiostations
- Tracks are grouped incorrectly, if it has been expanded by CUE sheet
- Player resumes playing incorrectly on program startup, if few playlists have same name
- Skins were drawn incorrectly on Windows XP under low color mode
- Player hung when internet-radiostation switching track
- Mono-channel mode was active by default
- Positions of records in the table were calculated incorrectly after the sorting
- Tag Editor - address line wasn't updated after the file had been renamed
- Tag Editor - the "Don't fill field if it has value" function wasn't work
- Tag Editor - it had no any ability to disable AutoTag, if it was enable
- Fixed: Files weren't moved, if keyboard was used for playlist navigation while drag and drop operation was being processed
