Alwil Software heeft de eerste bètarelease van versie 6.0 van zijn antivirusprogramma uitgebracht. Het programma is beschikbaar in de gratis Avast Free Antivirus uitvoering en de betaalde Avast Pro Antivirus. Daarnaast is er Avast Internet Security, met onder andere een firewall en spambestrijding als extra's. In versie 6.0 zien we onder andere verbeteringen aan de sandbox, is er een browserplug-in die de reputatie van een website kan aangeven en is er SafeZone, een speciale virtuele omgeving voor gevoelige transacties. Het changelog voor deze release ziet er als volgt uit:
