Software-update: Miranda IM 0.9.8

Zondag is versie 0.9.8 van Miranda IM verschenen. Dit opensource-instantmessagingprogramma wordt alleen voor Windows ontwikkeld en biedt standaard onder andere ondersteuning voor ICQ, irc, MSN, AIM, Jabber en Yahoo. De download is iets meer dan 2MB groot en daarmee krijg je een sober en licht programma. Zowel de functionaliteit als het uiterlijk van het programma kan echter met honderden verschillende add-ons en plug-ins naar eigen wens worden aangepast. Sinds versie 0.9.5 zijn de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen aangebracht:

Opgepast! In deze versie wordt de "experimental feature" Secure Connection (SSL) aangevinkt. Dit heeft als gevolg dat je niet meer kan inloggen op ICQ. Twee oplossingen blijkbaar:

Go to Options-network-icq-connection settings, uncheck and check again "Secure Connection" checkbox (Miranda will change login server and port to default values).

use a valid combination
ssl checked-> server: slogin.oscar.aol.com:443
ssl unchecked -> login.icq.com:5190

Raar dat er een oplossing voor nodig is als ik "secure connection" uit/aanvink veranderen de login-server en port automatisch mee. Disclaimer: ik gebruik geen officiële build maar regelmatig geüpdate build van code uit hun stable branch.
