Software-update: µTorrent 2.2 build 21002 bèta

Zondag is er een nieuwe versie uit de 2.2-ontwikkeltak verschenen van de BitTorrent-client µTorrent. Op dit moment is de 2.0-tak stabiel, is 2.2 in ontwikkeling en moet 3.0 als de experimentele-tak worden gezien. Nieuw in versie 2.2 is project "Griffin", een web-based framework waarmee het mogelijk is de functionaliteit door middel van extensies uit te breiden. Meer informatie is in de µTorrent Labs te vinden. Hieronder is te vinden wat er allemaal veranderd is sinds versie 2.2 de bètastatus gekregen heeft.

Hij was vanaf gisteren al te downloaden, inclusief de release-datum van vandaag (8-8-2010) in de changelog Werkt prima tot nu toe ...

@Barleone: Yep; had ik ook gesuggereerd in de submit van zaterdag, maar misschien wilde T.net toch tot 8-8 wachten ...

Dat kan liggen aan het feit dat het niet overal op de wereld dezelfde tijd 'heerst' .

Ik draai nu versie 2.2. beta (build 20813) en het viel me op dat bij het laden van een .torrent je niet meer eerst een scherm krijgt met een overzicht van alle bestanden in de desbetreffende torrent. Soms hoef ik maar een enkel bestand binnen de totale torrent te hebben en die kon je dan gemakkelijk aanvinken..

Nu kun je wel naar het tabblad Bestanden gaan en daar aanvinken wat je wel en niet wil downloaden, maar dat is een stuk omslachtiger.

Iemand een idee hoe je dit weer terug haalt?

Dit vind je onder Preferences-> UI Settings en dan het derde blok "When Adding Torrents"
Zet een vinkje bij "Show a Windows that displays the files inside the torrent"

Ik weet niet of het pas sinds deze versie ofzo is, maar de icoontjes in de linkse, verticale balk zijn 'nieuw' (lees: groen en lelijk want niet meer in lijn met de rest van de icoontjes).

Ook in Preferences => Bandwidth => vinkje uitzetten bij "Apply rate limit to uTP connections". Bij mij leverde het een enorme snelheidswinst op.

Indeed, de nieuwe icoontjes zijn niet om aan te zien, maar er zijn zo idioot veel skins voor te downloaden (nee, daar wordt't niet bloated van) dat je terug kunt naar de oude colour scheme.

Nu makkelijk mogelijk om de sidebar aan te passen en dat irritante AV-reclame icoontje uit te zetten.

Er zijn inderdaad aardig wat klachten te lezen in het announce forum van utorrent over die groene skin. Ook Firon gaf aan dat hij die skin helemaal niks vond (ik vraag me echt af wie dat (1) ontworpen heeft en dacht dat het wel tof was en (2) wie besloten heeft dat dat de default moest worden). Ik heb geen zin om moeite te doen om een aparte skin te installeren (geef me dan in ieder geval gewoon in de UI de optie om gewoon de 'classic' look te houden!), dus ik blijf voorlopig bij de 2.0 branch totdat die 'feature' gekilled wordt.

Hij heeft bij mij altijd vlot gedownload. Geen wijzigingen in snelheid.

Wat interesseert mij dat nou wat voor kleur 't is, zolang ie maar download.
uMap is wel leuk, krijg je een beetje een idee waar de meest gierige/armzalige mensen wonen.
