Software-update: Amahi 5.3

Dinsdag is versie 5.3 van Amahi uitgebracht. Amahi wordt door de ontwikkelaars omschreven als een hda, oftewel een home digital assistant. Amahi draait op Fedora en biedt onder andere gedeelde dataopslag, automatische backups, secure vpn, gedeelde applicaties zoals de calender van iCal of Outlook, streamen van audio en video en een eigen wiki. Nieuw in versie 5.3 is onder andere Greyhole, een manier om een volume te maken, waarbij het niet uitmaakt hoe groot de schijven zijn en op welke manier ze zijn verbonden. • Use reload instead of restart in samba when updating the platform
• Bug in the way the ajax spinners are generated - add semicolon everywhere, for more robust operation
• Make sure the network device is always enabled ONBOOT in the installer and the HDA daemon
• Do not show partitions of less than 200mb to add to the Greyhole disk pool, so we block adding nearly-to-full partitions to the GH pool

Known Issues

• You may be getting sabnzbd failed to start missing depends (cheetah,cherrypy, sqlite). This needs to be fixed. The workaround is to install chrrypy with yum by hand.
• Some greyhole warnings are needed for / partitions or other things that are not too smart to add to a pool

Erg tof en gebruiksvriendelijk systeem. 0.0 aan linux kenis vereist, echter moet wel geteld 1 commando op console in typen al vore het operationeel is.

Als ik hier kijk: https://www.amahi.org/instructions/install_fedora

Zie ik dat je eerste fedora los moet downloaden en installeren vervolgens een eigen repository moet opgeven. Waarna nog een aantal stappen gedaan meoten worden. Onnodig "complex" als je het met andere homeserver achtige pakketen vergelijkt.

Is de software van Amahi ook te gebruiken op Ubuntu Server?
Dingen zoals Web Keepass lijken me best handig, maar ik heb ooit de keuze voor Ubuntu Server gemaakt omdat ik wel van experimenteren houdt.
Ik weet dat Amahi is gebasseerd op Fedora en dat dit anders is dan Ubuntu.

Daar ben ik dus ook even naar op zoek gegaan, na dat ik wel erg nieuwsgierig ben geworden over Amahi, en het hele zootje dus gedownload heb. En geinstalleerd heb, het werkt trouwens perfect! Bekijk dit maar eens:http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Ubuntu
